Poster art - Poster art has its development origins in Paris, France after the creation of the three-color lithograph process around 1850. Led by the work of the father of the industry, Jules Chéret, the poster provided a low cost method of advertising for theatrical and sporting events as well as store and manufacturers' goods. Maîtres de l'Affiche - Maîtres de l'Affiche (Masters of the Poster) refers to 256 color lithographic plates used to create a very significant art publication during the Belle Époque in Paris, France. The collection, reproduced from the original works of ninety-seven artists in a smaller 11 x 15 inch format, was put together by Jules Chéret, the father of poster art. Paul Colin - Paul Colin (Nancy 1892–1985) was a French poster designer and at one time, briefly, the lover of Josephine Baker. The Art Deco poster he designed to publicize her troupe's "La Revue Nègre" launched his career in graphic design. Alton Kelly - Alton Kelly is an American artist best known for his psychedelic art, in particular his designs for 1960s rock concerts and albums. Along with artists Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse, Victor Moscoso and Wes Wilson, Kelly founded the Berkeley Bonaparte distribution agency in order to produce and sell psychedelic poster art.
